Why do you think African Americans aren't to blame for reacting to racism with violence, according to Malcolm X?

This is the home of the online journals and musings of my American history students at Groves High School in Beverly Hills, Michigan begun in the fall of 2006. At this site, students will share their thoughts and feelings about the topics in American history that interest them. They will respond to journals as well as be responsible for posting once a week. I hope you enjoy your visit, and please feel free to leave a comment or two.

I think African Americans aren't to be blamed for their reaction to racisim for many reasons. People don't choose their race, its what their born with. So, why should someone be punished for something they can't change? Even though i don't believe in violence, African Americans were just probably very frustrated and felt since they weren't being treated fairly why should they treat others fairly. It goes back to the golden rule, treat others how you would like to be treated. African American felt how they were acting wasn't wrong because they knew in their hearts how they were being treated was wrong.
